Gustavo Finessi

International crossover musician Gustavo Mazon Finessi enjoys a well-rounded musical background of pop, rock, jazz, classical, and baroque styles. As a professor Gustavo has held a Teaching Fellowship for classical bass at the University of North Texas.

​

He has also been invited to teach masterclasses and lessons, coach chamber music, and perform at several summer/winter programs such as The Hammond Ashley Memorial Double Bass Workshop (Seattle, WA), Karr Camp (Victoria, B.C.), Encuentro Internacional Contrabajo Motio (Argentina), Estágio de Contrabaixos de Bragança Paulista (Brazil), Festival de Música de Prados (Brazil), and University of North Texas Bass Camp (USA). He is also guest teacher of Improvisation for Strings at the Suzuki Workshop, in Greenville, Texas (USA).

As a performer, Gustavo has been all over the Americas, from Argentina and Brazil, to the U.S. and Canada. He was a member of the groundbreaking Bassinova Quartet, with whom he recorded their first album and toured across North America over the past two years. He has worked with an amazing variety of artists and ensembles in Brazil, such as Orquestra de Contrabaixos Tropical, CafeTango, Meretrio, Sandy, and Lê Coelho.
